Review on Jennifer L.Armentrouts 'Shadows'

The words for my review today are inspired by chicken, pizza, wedges and lets not forget the vanilla coke! and they all come from the heart.

I am four days late for my review, and for that I am very sorry; but here it is anyway...
"The last thing Dawson Black expected was Bethany Williams. As a Luxen, an alien life form on Earth, human girls are…well, fun. But since the Luxen have to keep their true identities a secret, falling for one would be insane. Dangerous. Tempting. Undeniable.

Bethany can’t deny the immediate connection between her and Dawson. And even though boys aren’t a complication she wants, she can’t stay away from him. Still, whenever they lock eyes, she’s drawn in. Captivated. Lured. Loved.

Dawson is keeping a secret that will change her existence…and put her life in jeopardy. But even he can’t stop risking everything for one human girl. Or from a fate that is as unavoidable as love itself."

First off I think Shadows is amazing because it gives you so much more insight to a few of the characters and it will explain a few things with others. In other books we do not know so much about Bethany but in Shadows we find out she is such a lovely character, and due to later events you feel sympathetic for her family and her loss. We learn that Ash and Andrew were always spiteful, selfish, and self-centered characters - so for a person like me who read all books of Obsidian through to Origins and then Shadows, you find that Ash and Andrew did not have Kate down for their first victim. We find out how strong a bond all the DB's share, especially Dee and Dawson, which caused me to appreciate my brother a whole lot more, and although the fact Daemon is the oldest is insignificant, its still something fans learn about them all. But the cherry on top of the ice cream and the real heart breaker is that by the end of it you find out why Daemon was such a douche to Kate and why he does not like humans, although it is not strong, his dislike is there... Due to the outcome of Shadows it gives a very emotional effect and perspective to Obsidian and Daemon as a character.

My recommendation? Read Shadows after Obsidian as it makes both a better read, the way I read it made it amazing and causes readers to feel more. I cannot put into words how great it was, however peeps, enjoy your reads never the less, and peace out for tonight!
